Obituary of Jesus Franco Alvarez

Jesus F. Alvarez of the Lodi area passed away in Lodi on March 20, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Mr. Alvarez was born in Monterey, Nuevo-Leon, Mexico on December 28, 1913. He married Josephine Gamez in 1944 in Texas. He came to the United States in 1951, settling in the Lodi area. He became a citizen of the United States in the 1980's. He worked as a foreman for 43 years, working before his retirement at Bare Fruit Company. He was a Police Officer in Mexico before coming to the United States. He loved the Lord, enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables, traveling and entertaining family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Alvarez; sons, Joe Alvarez, Lodi, Frank Alvarez, Lodi, Raymond Alvarez, Stockton, Richard Alvarez, Stockton; daughters, Lupe DeLeon, Lodi, Alice Alvarez Aguila, Stockton, Elva Gutierrez, Stockton, Beatrice Rodriguez, Stockton; 39 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Alvarez, son, Raul Alvarez and grandson, Orlando Aguila. There will be a recitation of the Rosary on Thursday at 7:00 PM with Father Jairo Ramirez of St. Anne's Catholic church officiating. A Chapel Service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM on Friday with Pastor Frank Alvarez of Lighthouse Pentecost Ministries officiating. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Lodi Funeral Home Wednesday, 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM.
