Mr. Alfred Richard Danelenko of Lodi and former resident of Fremont, CA passed away Friday March 5, 2004 in a Lodi Hospital at the age of 89. Mr. Danelenko was born September 21, 1914 in Kief, North Dakota to John and Stacia Danelenko. After attending trade school in North Dakota, he and his family settled in Lodi. From Lodi he moved to Oakland, CA and worked in the shipyards during WWII. It was in Oakland that he met his future wife Evelyn Solberg, who was from Minot, ND just miles from Alfred?s home town. He owned and operated Glenmoor cleaners in Fremont for 13 years before retiring and moving back to Lodi in 1974. He was a member of the Lodi Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and the Lions Club of San Jose. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, camping, golfing and playing cards. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by 1 son Glenn Danelenko and wife Sarah of Manteca, 1 daughter, Sue Beyer of Lodi, 2 granddaughters, Allison Beyer of Lodi, Nicole Samorano and husband Mike of Valley Springs, 1 sister, Eleanor Funnell of Vacaville, 2 great grandchildren, Brayden and Taylor Samorano of Valley Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Danelenko in 2001, a son in-law Richard C. Beyer in 1997, 1 sister, Gladys Danelenko in 2003, and a brother, Robert Danelenko in 1985. A chapel service will be held Friday March 12, 2004, 1:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in Lodi. Visitation will be held Thursday 1:00 -8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Remembrances can be sent to Hospice of San Joaquin, 2609 E. Hammer Ln. Stockton, CA 95210-4222
