George W. Norman passed away on December 26, 2003 in Stockton at the age of 63. He was born on March 20, 1940 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He moved to Linden in 1944. He was educated in Linden and was in the Navy aboard the USS Essex. He recently attended a reunion for those aboard this ship. He lived in Linden for the last 20 years. He was employed by PG&E as a Foreman for General Construction for the past 36 years. He was a member of the Valley Springs American Legion Post # 102 and the V.F.W. in San Andreas. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, horseback riding and traveling. He is survived by sisters; Juanita Jorgenson, Sacramento, Erma Northcraft, Nokomis, Ill., Mary King, Tucson ,AZ, Margie Ripplinger, Sacramento, Peggy Linsley, Angels Camp and Karen Norman, Lodi; brothers, Rex Norman, Redbluff and Walter Anderson of San Andreas; step-daughter, Janet Allen, and 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Justine, Tamara and Matthew; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Greathouse. There will be a Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 am at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Frank Mack of Family Life Christian Church of Galt will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Monday from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. Committal will be private.Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942
