Obituary of Maria Rosario Shoup

Maria Rosario Shoup, 79, of Lodi, died November 7th in Lodi. She was born Maria Rosario Gatica on May 18, 1924, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where she was raised. Mrs. Shoup came to the United States in 1958 and settled in Toledo, Ohio. She married her husband, David Shoup, on May 21, 1969. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, flowers and cooking. She is survived by her husband, David S. Shoup, of Lodi; son, Joseph Shoup, of Sacramento; brother, Abelardo Gatica, of Monterey, Mexico and sister, Serafina Gatica,of Lodi and one granddaughter. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Sunday at Lodi Funeral Home with Deacon Porfi Cisneros officiating. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2 pm at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery with Father Jairo Ramirez officiating. Committal will follow the service.
