MATHILDA EVA TILLIE SCALETTA, Age 84 of Lodi, passed away in a local convalescent hospital on October 7, 2003. She was born on July 16, 1919 to William and Kathryn Trautman, in Jamestown, North Dakota. Tillie grew up in Jamestown and attended school there. Tillie married Sam R. Scaletta on December 5, 1948 in Reno, Nevada. They lived in various places including, Sacramento, Stockton and Lodi. She was a waitress most of her life and during World War II while living in Tampa, Florida, she was employed as a waitress in the Officer's Club at McDill Air Force Base, for a brief time. She continued working as a waitress in Sacramento, Stockton and Lodi. A member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Lodi, she enjoyed playing Bingo at the church and at Loel Senior Center, and traveling to Lake Tahoe and other places in northern California. She also did cross stitching and crocheting. Survived by four sisters, Dollie Larson, Martha Hansen, Millie Mrozek and Sophia Grenz all of North Dakota. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Sam, on December 11, 1972; 2 brothers, Rudolph Trautman and Edward Trautman; a sister, Rachel Burrows. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi, CA 95240 with Fr. Alfred Alexander of St. Anne's Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery, Sacramento, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 2609 E. Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA 95210. Friends may call at Lodi Funeral Home beginning on Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m.
