Onelia Copper, 65, of Lodi, passed away on Saturday, August 2nd, 2003 at a Lodi hospital, following a long illness. She was born on April 24, 1938 in Talladega, Alabama, the daughter of Walter W. Cooper and Jessie Marie Christian. Ms. Cooper was a homemaker. She was a resident of Lodi for the past 13 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games, and dedicating her time to her family. She was known for her devotion to her family and her kindness to others. Onelia Cooper is survived by her son, Eric Cooper of Lodi; daughter, Wanda Marks of Ogden, Utah; her mother, Mrs. Jessie Cooper of Mobile, Alabama; two sisters, Joyce Cooper of Mobile, Alabama and Lola Edwards of Cleveland, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Terrence Marks, Tristan Marks, Auctavia Marks and Erica Cooper; 1 great-grandson, Tyrell Barnett; and her life companion, Mr. Edgar Mitchell of Mobile, Alabama. He also survived by numerous other relatives and many friends. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue in Lodi. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
