Papa Don, you will always be remembered. You always made me fill very welcomed and a part of the family from the very begining. You will be sincerely missed. I always thought of you as my other father. This was way to soon in our relationship, two fathers in one year is difficult to handle. I will always cherish the times we had. Love always

Don was the best fireman I ever worked with. Simply amazing under stress. He was always clear headed and made good solid decisions. Everyone who ever knew him had respect and admiration for the kind of man & fireman he was. If there ever has been a "Fireman's" fireman, Don would certainly be him. Don was always loyal to his family and friends, no matter what. I greatly admired him for that. I will miss asking his advice about all sorts of things [personal & professional].

Vickie, What do I say at a time like this? That I know how you feel? No, I don't know how you feel because everyone grieves in their own way. I do know, Vickie, that you, Bill, the girls and all the Cantaloupi family have been in my prayers these past few days. And, I trust God to get you through this heartbreaking time in your lives. Also know that we love you like our own and when you hurt, we hurt. You have only the wonderful memories now, so bring them out and talk of them often. That's the one way our loved ones never die.....all the beautiful memories. We are here when you need us. Love, Duane and Myrna

My Papa Don- I couldn't have asked for a greater grandpa; always so loving and protective of his family. He was just like mo-mo... I will miss him so much; but I'm only thinking of all the good memories that make me smile and laugh. I wish I could be there with everyone today, but I'm finding comfort talking about Papa with Lance and his family. To all of the family: I love you.

At this time our thoughts and prayers are with the Cantaloupi family. A few years ago through baseball we were blessed with making the friendship of a lifetime with Toni, Steve, and the boys. As these few years have passed, our family has been touched by the overwhelming kindness of the entire Cantaloupi family. The lives of each of us in the Kimmel family has truly been enriched by knowing Don. He will be missed.

Jackie You have our deepest thoughts and sympathy. Words seem so inadequate at a time like this. The passing of a family member has to be one of the hardest personal things a person goes through, especially a spouse or father, but remembering the good times and the support from the family and friends helps.

Jackie, Toni, Donnie, & Cory - I can't imagine the loss you all feel this week. I'm so glad to have known Don and shared in all the wonderful stories my parents shared with Jackie and Don. Toni was a great baby sitter when I was a kid - our moms have been friends since early childhood - our dads were hunting partners - how time flies...... Everyone always felt part of the family, not just a friend. May your heart be filled with great memories of him.....there are many. Sincerely, Pam & Megan

I'm praying for all of you today. When we lose a loved one, God gives us the strength that allows us to hold on while letting go. Remember: This world, however beautiful, was never meant to be. The place that we would call our home for all eternity. And though we would not choose to leave, a loving God knows best, and in His time, He lifts us to a place of peace and rest. For He has built a mansion where His children will abide, Free from pain and sorrow, forever at His side. He said He'd never leave us to face our trials alone, and though sometimes we fail Him, He never fails His own. And even when our choices are less than He would ask, He knows when human courage is unequal to the task. We cannot judge what happens, though tears and questions start-- We only see what's visible-- God sees into the heart..And though there may be many things that we cannot explain, We can be sure it breaks His heart to see His children's pain. In loving arms, He bears us to a quiet place apart. Where He mends the wounded spirit and heals the broken heart. And though these ones we love so much have left our present sight and passed into a better world of majesty and light, Someday we'll be together in our Father's home above, where we'll thank Him for His mercy and praise Him for His love. Remembering the life of someone so special and sharing in your loss. I pray the Lord continues to hold you very very close to His heart as you adjust to the loss of your father, husband, and grandpa.

We are going to miss Don. We were all kids together and were friends and school mates. We were part of a great era and prowled Pacfic Ave night after night in the 50's as kids would do. Went to all the dances and teen age hangouts. Then we grew up and married and had families and served the community,I as a police officer and Don as a firefighter. We both had great careers and ended up living within a block of each other. Were going to miss him, in fact we already do. May God bless him and welcome him into his open arms as one of our hero's. Jack and Lu Calkins

In 29 years with the Stockton Fire Department, the best times were with Don and Jerry at Company Nine. Working with Don was the most comfortable and enjoyable, learning experience of my career. Do your basics, HAVE FUN and be agressive. Don told me that Chief Rambo knew when 9,s was on a call by the garlic on their breaths. The best example of a firefighter has passed away, but I'll always have the memories.
