Frederick Macon Turner was born in Lowell, MA on November 14, 1938. He passed away May 14, 2003 in Stockton at the age of 64. Fred spent his childhood in College Park, Maryland. He graduated High School from Grant High School in Sacramento, and then went on to attend American River College, and California State University Haywood. He served in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Tx. After the military he began working for the State of California as a Manager, a position he held for 38 years. He married Marilyn Austin of Lodi on June 12, 1971 in Sacramento. The couple settled on a small vineyard in Lodi, where they raised their children Christian, Sarah, and Mark. They maintained the vineyard for over twenty years. Fred?s hobbies included; golf, playing softball for the Gallo softball team, traveling and researching the civil war and Elizabethan times. Fred loved to dance, sing, and always have a good time. He was a member of St. Anne?s Catholic Church in Lodi where he served as past C.Y.O. Basketball Director and past member of the Parish Council. He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and June Turner. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Marilyn Turner of Lodi, Son; Christian and his wife Kim of Sacramento, Daughter; Sarah of Daly City, Son; Mark of San Francisco, and Mother-in-law; Maxine Austin of Lodi. Friends may visit Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday at 1 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave, Lodi. with interment at Glenview Cemetery immediately following. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Foundation. Lodi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
