Obituary of John Holmgren

Mr. John D. Holmgren of Lodi passed away Sunday November 6, 2005 in a Lodi hospital at the age of 74. Mr. Holmgren was born August 14, 1931 in San Francisco, California to John E. and Anita Holmgren. John worked as a maintenance laborer for the Army Corps of Engineers at Hogan Dam Reservoir Valley Springs for 30 years before retiring in 1990. Mr. Holmgren was a United Sates Air Force and Korean War Veteran. Mr. Holmgren was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed the feeling of a cool breeze in his face. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, flying, music, playing the piano and organ, communicating with others on his ham-radio and pending quality time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He survived by his loving wife of 25 years Judith Holmgren of Lodi; 1 son, John Scott Holmgren of Topeka, Kansas; 1 daughter, Cindy Smith of Sacramento, and 7 grandchildren. Private services will be held. Arrangements are by the Lodi Funeral Home.
