Obituary of Frances Rund

FRANCES ELIZABETH RUND, age 87 of Lodi, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2004 in Carmichael, CA following a sudden illness. Frances was born on June 27, 1916 in Carrington, North Dakota. She moved to Lodi with her family at the age of eleven years old and attended Salem Elementary School. She attended Lodi High School, and it was there that she met her future husband, Leander "Lee" Rund. Frances and Lee were married on June 25, 1936 in Reno, Nevada and made their home in Lodi. Frances was employed as a waitress for many years at various restaurants including, The Log Cabin, Helwig's Fountain, Hollywood Caf and the Hotel Lodi. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and her hobbies included sewing, gardening, especially her roses, collecting cookbooks and coins. She had a deep commitment to Christian Education and worked tirelessly for her daughters' education. She was a long-time member of English Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survived by daughters, Gloria Jean Yaw of Carmichael, Dolly Kiesz and Candee Adams both of Lodi; brothers, Edwin Seibel, John Seibel, Gerald Seibel all of Lodi; sisters, Leora Novak of Tyler, Texas, Lee May of Modesto, Jean Clay and Viola Jones both of Lodi; 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leander "Lee" Rund in 1980; brother, Lawrence Seibel; sister, Mary Irene Smith. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with Pastor Loyd Sewake of the Carmichael Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at noon to 8 p.m., Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to service time.
