Bessie Ota passed away in Lodi at the age of 84 on February 27, 2004. Mrs. Ota was born in Lodi on June 24, 1919 and lived in this area her entire lifetime. She was a barber at Mary?s Barber Shop for 50 plus years in Lodi. She was also a member of the Lodi Buddhist Church. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Kenji Ota of San Jose and Keith Kiyoshi Ota of Lodi; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ito of Anaheim. She was preceded in death by husband, James Hajime Ota in 1998; daughter, Linda Ota; sisters, Mary Kuwabara, Bernice Nambu; brothers, Micki Takeuchi and George Takeuchi. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday at 1:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenshin Fujimoto officiating. There is no visitation and inurnment will be private.
