Obituary of Thomas Lial Terra

Thomas Lial Terra, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend of Acampo, passed away on January 6, 2014, at the age of 84. He was born in Lodi, California on March 17, 1929 to Frank and Mary Terra. Tom was born on the Terra farm, followed his father's footsteps as a dairy farmer and lived his entire life on the farm in Acampo. He served in the Korean War in the 24th Infantry Division as a Sargent and was elected as a Commander of the American Legion of Lodi post #22 in July 1989. Tom was an active member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church. He is survived by his brother Lee Terra; daughters, Shirley Weber and Vivian (William) Maroni; son, Brian Terra; grandchildren, Kristin Hein, Kaitlyn Weber, Nicole Clardy, Matt Terra, Erykah Terra, Veronica Terra, and Elizabeth Terra; and 4 great grandchildren. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday January 14th at 10:00 AM at Lodi Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Thursday January 16th at 1:30 PM next to his wife of 60 years with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joachim's Catholic Church at 13392 Lockeford Ranch Rd, Lockeford, CA. 95237 in his memory.
