I met Al about three years ago when he came into my mother's life. When I think of Al, I think of his great sense of humor. He had a wonderful laugh after making a "smart" remark that would make everyone laugh. We enjoyed Al attending our family picnics and BBQ's. He would usually bring a yummy dessert for everyone to share. The thing I remember most about Al was how very good he was to my Mother, Jeannie Pugh. He was constantly fixing things around her house, even things that didn't need fixing. He was a very generous man when it came to helping others. I will really miss watching him and my mother dancing and enjoying the band at the Loel Center. Al is a very special person and will be greatly missed.

We will miss Al dearly. We could see in Lisa's grandmother's eyes the joy, love, and compassion that Al brought into her life, as she did into his. It was always a joy to visit with them, and Mike especially enjoyed Al's visits. They could always have a hearty conversation about their beloved Sacramento Kings! It is a true loss for everyone who knew him and had the chance to become a part of his life. Our only wish is that our grandmother had been able to be with him in his greatest time of need for comfort and to say their final goodbyes.

I will miss Al. I will miss seeing all the joy he brought to my friend Jean Pugh, and I will miss all the joy Jean brought to Al. It is very rare to see a couple that enjoyed and shared so much. They were a blessing to each other. They had a wonderful communication - that one is lucky to find in a life time. She made his eyes sparkle, and he made her eyes sparkle. She was the "love of his life." He was a wonderful, giving man. I thank God that Jean was there to help make Al's last three years loving, fun, and memoriable. Especially in his last days of pain and suffering.......he knew she was by his side.......suffering with him...although the last week she was "banned" from being with him.. ...she was there in heart, and spirit....and he knew it. I will miss Al.
